March Madness? 3 Steps to Help You Let the Sunshine In
This time of year can really bring the duldrums. In fact, the medically correct terminology is a form of depression known as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)It’s not all winter, and it’s not quite spring. For many people who have been in hibernation and are struggling with cabin fever, these three simple steps can help you cope.
(Please consult a physician before treating any health concern.)
One – GO OUTSIDE!
There is nothing like good old Mother Nature to bring a smile to your face. As a child growing up in the U.S. Virgin Islands, I loved to stand outside and feel the sun on my face….climbing trees and eating mangoes also did much to lighten my spirits. The same is true today. I may not be in the islands, but no matter where you are, Mother Nature has something special to offer. Go outside and find it!
Two – GO YA…I mean, YOGA!
As one of the oldest and most dynamic forms of exercise,
the benefits of yoga as a mood booster have been documented from as far back as the 1970s. So grab a mat, a trainer, and some water and feel the burn!
Three – VOLUNTEER
Helping others may be the best journey to joy on our list. By yielding to a purpose beyond our inward needs, we are able to look outward at the suffering of others. When we give, the payoff is big and a proven method for inner peace!
